Puerta Hacia Mi Hogar began during a season of profound uncertainty — a time of economic, political, and social upheaval that prompted a new chapter far from the island I call home. The painting remained unfinished for years, living quietly in the city of eternal spring, waiting. When the final brushstroke came, so did its meaning. This work is about perseverance — the conviction that for every door that closes, a thousand others open. It is a love letter to Old San Juan rendered in the language of light and color: the warm facades, the iron lanterns, the blue sky that belongs only to Puerto Rico. Though I may not stand on its cobblestones today, I know the turns of life will bring me back to my Viejo San Juan.
